Monyash Reserve also referred to as Carine Open Space, a large open space or park set around to Swamps, Big Carine Swamp and Little Carine Swamp. It is also laid out with sports courts for Cricket, Base Ball, Soccer Tennis and other games, Ruth's home is just a short walk away. Today we walked the full way around the reserve a distance of about 2400 meters

A pair of Australian Magpies seemed happy to pose for the camera.

While walking around the park we had the good fortune to see some Rainbow Bee Eaters they migrate south during the summer to breed, then return to the north in the winter. They nest in the ground so their nesting site was fenced off to protect them. They feed on flying insects which they catch in flight and as their name implies their favorite food is Bees.

We could not get close enough to photograph them
so these pictures are courtesy of Google Images.
