I’m sure you all remember the great e-mail debate about the anniversary party. Ruth, you may remember, suggested Whitemans Park in Perth. Well today we visited Whitemans Park, and she was right - it is a great place for a family get together. We saw many of the local fauna and birds, Kookaburras, Parrots, Cassowary, and so on. Kangaroos in all their varieties, Koalas, Dingoes, Golden Possum, two sleeping Tasmanian Devils, and Wombats etc, etc. We also saw a demonstration in mustering (rounding up) sheep with kelpies, the local breed of sheep dog, and sheep shearing. Then we had a demonstration in how to crack a whip and instruction in how to milk a cow by hand, with members of the audience invited to have a go. All in all it was a very good day.
