Today we took a train ride to Mandurah.
Ruth gave us a lift to the station at around 10:00.
With an $11 day ticket you can travel any ware on the Transperth network, trains or buses. So a trip to Mandurah some 50 odd miles is pretty good value, and we didn't even have to change trains. Mandurah station is on the edge of town, but there are two shuttle buses (588 & 589) that run from the adjoining bus station to the foreshore, these take a circular route in opposite directions, so it doesn't matter which one you catch, and they are included in the day ticket. Mandurah is a coastal town and it is nice to walk along the water front or the board walk, there are places to picnic, seats to sit on, eateries to check out, and souvenir shops. On a day like today, late 20s to 30c, the breeze off the water is very pleasant. We found a seat to rest and eat our sandwiches, then had a wander round, sat and enjoyed the place, saw a Dolphin, bought ourselves an ice cream then took the shuttle back to the station and the train back to Warwick. the train got in about 14:26, It took me about an hour to walk from the station back to Ruth's house with about three pauses to rest my legs on route. So we got back in at around 15:20.

The first day of spring, and snowing in Stamford this morning. Didn't settle, thankfully.
